LIENETTE CRAFOORD
YOGA DIRECTOR & STUDIO OWNER
After more than 10 years of practicing various styles of yoga, Lienette found the Hot26 (Bikram) series as she was seeking a deeper practice in an effort to avoid injury while training for her first marathon. Falling in love with the series immediately, she knew that she wanted to share the yoga from her first class in Seattle, WA. Lienette went on to run the Dublin Marathon pain and injury free.A year later (2001) she went to train with Bikram Choundry and became certified to teach this powerful series. For 3 years Lienette answered the call of many studios opening/managing/teaching through the US and Canada. As she continued with sport - marathons, triathlons, mountain climbing, skiing, etc. yoga has remained a constant.
"Yoga is my sanity - it grounds me, keeps me humble, challenges me, rewards me and it gives me clarity. It allows everything that doesn't serve me in the moment to fall away so that I can better hear my truth. Sharing the mind body connection with others is an incredible gift that keeps me in gratitude daily."

MICHAEL
HOT VINYASA
I use Yoga as a metaphor for life. I think that a yoga journey should be fun! I am not saying that the practice not be challenging or that it will encourage you to test and expand your limits, but yoga is about your own personal journey. I want my journey to be a fun one! I am a 500-hr Registered Yoga Instructor, and I’m also a real person, and I recognize that I’m teaching real people. Each class that I teach has its own beat, a vibration, and its own pulse. I choose each pose with alignment based focused that I believe helps us deepen our yoga experience/practice. As a young man I found that dance helped me move through those hard times. I use my dance background to help create interesting and original sequencing that allows my students to move like themselves. I believe that through movement, we thrive. Through movement you can find your own rhythm and connect to your own truth.

JULIE
HOT VINYASA
I was a long distance runner throughout junior high, high school and college; I would run long distances and never take the time to stretch. I decided I needed yoga to help keep my body strong after running. Once I began to practice, I fell in love with yoga and what the movements and heat did for my body and mind. Soon, I was craving the yoga more than the running. My classes are strong, yet accessible to all who want to test their mind and body. I trust in the breath and self-care. If someone is not feeling strong that day, no judgment--taking rest when needed is important. I create a safe environment for exploration in the body and mind, while also having a lot of fun--and all to good music! I love being a teacher and a student.
Hope to see you on the mat!

UPKAR
HOT 26
As a High School senior, Upkar popped both hamstrings and dislocated both shoulders playing lacrosse . She was awarded an athletic scholarship to play Division 1 Lacrosse, but because of her injuries, Upkar was faced with the choice to either have surgery or redshirt her first year of eligibility. She chose surgery. A decade later, Upkar could barely touch her toes and was drastically out of shape. Her best friend dragged her to her first Bikram Yoga class in 2003. She remembers eating a burrito 10 minutes before class and having to come out of the hot room a few times feeling very sick. Although that first class was really tough, Upkar came out of the room feeling amazing. It was an even better workout than playing college LAX. Five years into her practice, she attended Bikram’s Yoga Teacher Training in the fall 2008 in Acapulco, Mexico. She passionately teaches students to do their practice, with faith, tenacity and consistency. Her goal is to bring authentic Indian yoga practice and philosophies to the NYC K-12 Physical Education Curriculum.
